“Day With Grandpa" captures the bewildering and somewhat unsettling spectacle of a cockfight as seen through the innocent eyes of an eight-year-old. 

This piece explores the jarring nature of the event, filtered through the entrancing lens of a child's imagination; the experience fueled by the presence of his beloved grandfather and their storytelling circle of friends.

From the clamoring figures below, their faces contorted in shouts and jeers, to the nonchalant smokers filling the air, the scene is a chaotic combination of grown-up activity. In the upper right, a solitary rooster witnesses the aftermath of a previous battle, guarded by an imposing figure. The background hints at the practical realities beyond the fight, as figures carry away a fallen foe. 
Yet, amidst this, a touch of childish fantasy emerges: a rooster mischievously dons a human head, a whimsical attempt to escape the fray.
At the heart of it all, a young boy observes, a silent witness to this strange and captivating world.
